No rain for 5 days

Ive heard from my farmer father in law that we will not be seeing any spring grass until mid april as it will takes ages to dry out

We have well draining paddocks and if had 5 dry days, our paddocks would be dry enough to harrow and roll, but depends on the depth of your mud!
Wish our forecast said the same - we have 3 days of yet more sleet and rain predicted for next week......

We had a dry spell for a good 4-5 days about 2 weeks back. The fields started to dry up but the minute it rained again the liquid mud returned

I think its clay. One part is really deep mud. Only took the field on in October. Had heard that it was muddy but thought that as I had fewer horses it would not be too bad. The actual grazing part is not too bad just a bit waterlogged. Where they congregate for their food it is trecherous. Its on a slope so the top is aweful. Theres even mud in some of the stables.

As soon as the temperature is high enough, I'll see spring grass, certainly before April. There were some shoots showing before this latest rain. I'm in Kent and luckily my land drains really well.
After wading round our flooded yard and then taking a hay delivery in a howling gale with sleet, 5 days of dry will be wonderful!
