didnt get any sleep last nite was up ever hour worryin just cant sleep nd not eaten at all today just feelin run down nd on a low.

Went to the field nd Athena pottered over to me, looking very sorry for herself she also has been off her food today, bribed her with some chaff, kept nudging me for a stroke.

So worried wat the results will bring, if its bad im nt sure i can live with myself for nt ringin the vets sooner :(

Oh poor you and Athena. :(

I hope she's okay. It's always a nightmare judging when it's time to call the vet. You don't want to do it at the drop of a hat, yet we always feel guilty we should have called sooner.

Fingers crossed she's fine.

Well i should think so.... shes used to lieing on a bean bag in front of a fire wathching Neigh bours :)

Chin up dont worry, quite a few bugs running round at the mo... she has probably just got freshers flu.

My little girl got it when she came down from Manchester - used to being out in a stable herd of youngsters and then came to a livery yard.... she just picked a very mild strain of strangles up - it was all hell let loose at first - but honest even if it is step equi - strangles rather than strep zoo - flu type - it may not be anywhere near as bad as you think

chin up chap and if you need to ask me anymore about the tests etc that were run - just let me know :)

Oh dear, I did wonder how much sleep you would get...I am also a big worrier, nothing else bothers me but I do worry about my animals. I guess the not knowing is the worse thing...hopefully you will get some feedback from the tests very soon and then at least you wll know what you are dealing with. When you say Athena is feeling sorry for herself do you mean she is showig symptoms or is she just fed up with the weather etc?

crossed wires i think, Athena has a strange hard patch on her leg which the vet and Rileyboy are concerned about:(

i know we can keep telling you not to worry Rileyboy but it's impossible not to isn't it, but you have to look after yourself to be able to look after her , hope you can get some answers tomorrow so you know what you're dealing with.x

Ano just feelin crap nd sick cause im worried :( wish it was flu sadly it's a strange lump tht vet was worryin about nd now am panicking :(

Gave her feed again tonight didnt eat all of it but is warm so half way there. Still strainin to wee but drinkin normaly, thanks guys realy means so much :)

you'll be no good for anything if you dont look after yourself. i know its easy to say that but for now you've done as much as you can for Athena and its a matter of waiting for the test results.
also i dont think you should be beating yourself up over not calling the vet in sooner. After all you've only had her a couple of weeks if that? and if i recall, the lump was hidden by her feathers so not immediately obvious. you called the vet in as soon as you found it. so stop blaming yourself!
hope the vet comes back with results tomorrow. good or bad at least you'll know what you're dealing with
