Opinions on my baby boy are welcomed. He is homebred, 4.5yo and was backed Jul/Aug. He is just jumping and is STARTING to do some nice flat!! XC training planned for Apr maybe!! He is a right Kevin sometimes though!!

Excuse the dog - she is obsessed with trotting next to him even when I'm just doing circles but she was perfectly safe!

Same here, no snow in the bottom part of Devon, sand school had a few water jumps in though so a boring hack on the roads, I sooooo want to ride my horse on the beach that is my aim for this year!!! Beautiful horse by the way.

Wow, which beach is that? I'm jealous :D

Piglet - I'm South Devon too - Mothecombe is fab, open all year with a big grassy, free car park. On a day like today lots of dog walkers to watch out for but there is loads of space so I just steer round any yappy things!!!! You just need the low tides and you are good for at least 2 hours either side!!
Hudson - I am very lucky - it is 15 minutes in the trailer so v easy. Oh & the dog tried to keep up with horse when galloping... bless her!!!

BoolavogueDC - I was worried about her getting under his feet but after a bit of walking around they seem to get used to the self preservation... I always have one eye out for her though, just in case. I did have a yappy thing after me at one point... I just kicked on! lol!!!
victoria1980x - Mothecombe in South Devon. I think they filmed International Velvet here?!

Stacey6897 - Mothecombe. There are no Groynes & my boy is fairly impeccable for 4yo & pulls up despite the space. There is loads of room & if he does get strong I ride him into the water which slows him up!!

I know I'm not exactly schooling here but how does he look for his age? I am thinking first Intro or even Prelim test soon!!!

Kool thanks for that, isn't Bigbury and Exmouth s'posed to be good?

I'm not sure - I'd tried googling beaches for riding and never really got anywhere but I found out about Mothecombe & now I'm an addict. You'll have to let me know if you get to check out either of these!!!

Mothecombe is lovely. Especially if you join the Modbury Harriers ride!! Bigbury good but beware soft sand in places, Goodrington ok but the locals aren't very horse friendly

They did :)

Great beach, one of my favourites, although we never took horses there.

We had to do the crack of dawn thing at Paignton with the racers whenever we went.
