No Turnout ... would it be rude of me to ask under these circumstances?

So I have been looking for a new yard for quite a while as we had no lights and no turnout, to my disappointment the next best thing was to move to a yard with lights so at least mare can be turned out in the arena for an hour and rode after work. We moved 2 weeks ago and all's going well, when we moved we were told there was no turnout atm until ground drys up as they cut haylage and obviously a pot holey field will not be suitable to cut for haylage. We were also told that there was one horse who gets turned out due to being old and his legs swell, fair enough. BUT now there is another horse which is allowed to be turned out as well. Said field is a small one above the arena (by small i mean about 40x60) so i doubt they would use it for haylage (they have acres of land) but i could be wrong. I'm debating asking if my mare can go out for an hour or so a day as whats the difference between 2 or 3 horses being out but i don't want to seem rude!! Mare seems happy enough munching haylage all day but I like her being out socializing with other horses (which im sure she loves to!!). What do you think, should I ask?

I'd be concerned about how flexible this "rule" seems to be ...

If you're sure that the two horses are going out for very good reason (although that should be true of any horse) I wouldn't ask, because you knew the rule in advance and it could create bad feeling or get you off to a bad start with the YO - if they bend the rule for you they have to for everyone.

If there's no very good reason why these two get to go out while the others have to stay in, I'm afraid I'd be looking for a different yard!

I would ask, if they say no, they say no! Just don't make a fuss if they say no and carry on as you are. Surely they won't get angry just because you asked?

One is old and legs swell up and a vet said the other is depressed. Tonitot - that's what my sister said but as Theocat says I don't want to get off to a bad start either :o The YO's are really nice, very easy going!!
