Well I have totally enjoyed almost 2 full days of equestrian television. have not watched so much tele in ages!!
It was just a shame we didn't see more than 5 riders in the Kur, but the 5 we saw were excellent. Was on the edge of my seat for the Eventing showjumping and as everyone else has said well done Zara.

Might have to actually go out and do stuff tomorrow as no more WEG until Tuesday.

I'm looking forward to the showjumping, but if Luidam is on the Irish team I'm afraid I'll be cheering for him rather than the brits!!

The big question is are the Germans going to make it a clean sweep of the Olympic disciplines and get SJ team gold as well?

*ahem* My family did insist on turning it off so they could go to sleep, but that's hardly the point, is it?

Kur????? What Kur??? When???? I'm getting to screaming point with the TV "scheduling". Eurosport's is a complete farce, nothing is ever on when it's supposed to be (according to their schedules both in the tv paper or their website) and BBC, who very kindly put it in interactive yesterday but didn't publicise anywhere . . . . . so I only found out when my son told me it was on. So I abandoned the Grand Prix to watch interactive which, by then, had a note on the screen saying that the next rider was at 15.30 - what they DIDN'T say was that was 15.30 German time which meant it came on at 2.30 OUR TIME so I missed a great chunk again (switched over in time to see WFP) aaaarrghhhh!!!!!! Keep missing stuff and trying to video things at scheduled times results in nothing that I'm interested in. . . .

The next excuse will be that people don't watch equestrian stuff even when it's on but it would help if we KNEW and they a) stuck to scheduled times and b) publicised it

(rant over!!)

I'm glad I've never parted with money for the privilege of being driven mad by Eurosport! I watched all of the Kur live via the WEG website and though the quality is nothing like broadcast standard it's better than nothing. I've e-mailed the BBC (yet again), this time thanking them for the BBCi coverage but pointing out that more people would have used it if they had let people know it (the SJ phase) was on offer. I watched via the WEG site and only found out when I checked messages during the break after the first 26 that BBCi was in operation again. It was not mentioned the previous day and the BBC Sport Interactive listing still had not been updated to show the addition. I assume that they will have mentioned it when the regular Grandstand programme began, but the chances are that the people most keen to see the Eventing will not have been tuned in for the rowing etc! My e-m on Sat aftternoon pleaded for BBCi coverage of the Team SJ this week.
The reason for the German time being given is of course that they were totally reliant on the German TV feed - inferior to what the BBC offers at British events - only a few cross-country fences featured etc. Obviously they had one camera person of their own to film the interviews that they intercut into the cross-country highlights on BBC2.
I've just found that they did include the updated BBCi times at: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/equestrian/5285842.stm
The SJ times next week make no sense as the BBC2 coverage will be before the Individual Final begins and the subsequent BBCi coverage says it is of the Team event even though that takes place on Tues, Weds & Thursday. I shall now have to send another e-m!

I also waited for the Dressage to come on Eurosport on Saturday evening, but typically only bl.... football. I have tried to email sky, but it said their server was unavaliable, will try again today. Might be an idea if everybody emailed and complained, who knows they might get the message.

I think the coverage has been a farce! I have set my Sky+ for Eurosport, went to retreive the stored programmes - there were none as Eurosport had stuffed the scheduling yet again! The scheduling has just been a joke, I've recorded what I thought was WEG, it was effing CYCLING! And I have tuned in for a 30-minute slot which has shown ONE rider!

I was out on Sunday so missed the terrestrial coverage, so all I have seen is dressage!
