Betsy is officially the quietest dog on my street (and that is saying something!!)

Tonight there are 5 dogs locked outside (between about 8 houses), they are all howling / yapping and have been out there for at least an hour. Luckily B ignores the noise and does her wees and comes back in so she isn't adding to the racket. Its 1 degree out there, B had to be dragged out to do a wee:rolleyes:.

There is one particular lab I really feel for. He is out there all day and all night, whatever the weather, there is no shelter at all in the garden (chicken wire only fence) I can see him whining hopefully at the door constantly, poor boy.
I have yet to meet / see one person on this street walking a dog:(

I really do feel for the dogless families in the middle of this, it doesn't exactly give a very good impression of dog owners.

Pointless post really, maybe I am soft but I just really feel for some of these dogs. And to be honest... I am sick of hearing other peoples dogs making so much noise when my yappy terrier can manage to stay quiet (unless the cat appears:rolleyes:)

Judging by the size of the lab he is getting plenty of food and I can hear him drink. We have some very low temps forcast here over the next couple of days, if the poor thing is left out in them I'm going to try to talk to the owner. I know the RSPCA will do nothing :(

He was out in gale force winds last weekend :(

One of the noisy households is rented.... When we were renting we were so cautious of how much noise B made for fear of the neighbours complaining to the landlord, the neighbours obviously don't care (suprising as they are in a 'strictly no pets' property).

I am not anti - dogs living outside. But they need some form of shelter, these dogs don't even have a fence line to break the wind.

The RSPCA will not do much TBH if dogs have food and water.
Dog warden would be my first of call or the environmental services dept at the council.

Well they should be able to act under the animal welfare act 2006 now if it doesn't have adequate shelter. Though agree I would try Dog Warden 1st :)
