My daughters Haflinger is a little sweetie, but very vocal. If we bring him in to groom/ride etc he whinnies constantly for his buddies. He leaves them happily to come in though. He continues to whinny when he is ridden (sounds more like a grunt when working properly in the school!). He is not nappy, will happily go out on his own and work in the school, he just likes to let everyone know that he is there.
What should (if anything) we do about this? Some people have said to ignore him and just carry on, others have said to smack him every time he shouts?
What is the general opinion on this?
