Hi all hoping I can get some help with showing my new horse. He is a 16.1hh 4 year old piebald registered with the british appaloosa society however as a non-appaloosa. His breeding is unknown all his passport says is sporthorse. I am wondering what classes I will be able to show him in and how he should be presented for inhand and eventually ridden classes. I figured he will have his mane plaited but what about tails? trimmed or plaited? what about tack/colour? and how should I be presented also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am at a total loss as I have only ever shown Highlands! arghhhh

The pics dont work so i snooped in your album, he is smart.

For you, same turnout as riding a Highland

Him:
Plaited mane
Trimmed ears, jaw, feathers
Pulled & banged tail
My preference is brown tack - plain snaffle bridle whilst he is a novice

Locally you could try Hunter and Riding Club Horse classes :)

Edited to add, if you show Hunter, you'll need to add real or fake spurs to your turnout

Thank you so much for the reply! i wasnt sure if the photos would work..not very good with computers! when showing either hunter or riding horse classes does it matter on their build? Ive heard people say a horse is too fine for a hunter horse class and similar..he isnt the chunkiest but i wouldnt say hes fine either! for these classes is tack all plain ie no blingy type browbands? Its such a jungle trying to figure this all out!
