Non native

Is my Irish bred ISH eligible for this class in a local show? Thanks

Does the schedule state a height limit, or say pony/horse in the class title?

If you had asked me this question when I was a Show Secretary I would have said "Yes"Native to me is M&M, basically it sounds like an 'anything else' class to give everyone a chance to enter a class, fill the schedule and keep the money coming in;) I'd hate to be the judge of that!

Although if your question had come up during a Committee meeting (and it would have) it would probably have caused a debate because some pedant would have been bound to have said "We're in Wales, anything born over the bridge is non native!"

So, it could mean...

Native = M&M (now then, does that also include Suffolk, Cleveland, Eriskay, Lundy etc?)

or,

Native (of) as in born there eg UK, so yours is Irish bred - to split hairs, NI or Eire? :)

Ask the Secretary, either on the day, or phone up/email - next time they put that class in the schedule they will be more specific!:)

You could enter it round here! Basically it is a class for any horse/pony who isn't one of our native pony breeds. I think it means something different if you are talking about a coloured but the CHAPS website might be best to help with that!
