Having more or less given up hope of finding a normal share :( do you think anyone would be interisted in a non riding share?
I am hoping to take my stage one next year, but of course that would be impossable without being arond horses a fair bit and getting back into the habbit of doing things right.

I am at home with a 5 year old son so could do horses every day(he likes them too so evening stables would not be a problem unless yard did not allow children ).

Would it be worth popping an add up in the tack shop(or elsewhere, sugestions welcome!) asking for somehting like this?

So your a responsible adult just looking to do stable and field duties with some ground work?
i think there will be a queue lining up for you!
Sounds to good to be true :)

You missed out skint :p but yep.
Obviously it would be wonderfull to find a proper share, but they seem to be rocking horse poo :(
Desperatly want to do at least the care section next year so am more then willing and happy to be a yard slave doing whatever needs doing to help that.

advertise as "help offered"... i did and i got loads of requests (not from here but pm me if you need suggestions which sites)....

you wont have to pay and sometimes get offered free riding....

not all shares ask for money :)

Where are you in Yorks? I've got 3 on my own yard, and have my arm in a sling, with an op looming, so hubby doing everything at the mo! I'm also a BHSAI, so would be able to help with your exam...

I think once you get known on a yard it is easier to get shares/rides once people know you are reliable/competent by doing the donkey work for a bit you may hit gold :) a lot of people want sharers but don't want someone they don't know, its not always about the money.

I'm happy to pay for a "normal" share, just skint as in can't afford to pay for SM lessons/as many riding lessons as I would like and need.
I'm pretty much 6ft and over weight from being at home with no horses(hatred of gym not helped :p ) so it's been finding a cob type thats the issue!
Was ready for the 1 when I left last working pupil job,but that was a few years ago so desperatly need to be hands on again or booking the exam will be throwing cash away.

ETS-from responces so far and given the time of year/price of hay and bedding ect this year it may well work out :D
