Well rode Dreamer out this morning and he was coughing and spluttering all the way round the fields.

We have the best quality hay we can get and I was climbing round the hay barn today and it really is not dusty at all. The field he is in is not dusty at all with all the rain we've had recently.

I know he has got COPD and it seems like maybe it is effecting him again.

Could it be the pollen?

He's always had issues with dust but don't remember him having problems with pollen.

Should also mention that he is out 24/7 so isn't stabled at all.

Have you any rape near you? My Icey is terrible this year as we have rape along the bottom field and that together with the pollen is really affecting his breathing.

Hey Julie!

Nope, no rape at all! We've moved up to Burgh St Peter and there isn't much rape around there!

Figured it might just be tree/grass pollens but not sure.

Will see what he is like next time I go ride too!

BTW....the horses are looking gorgeous in your sig!

Do you have any Hawthorn?? Its just really starting to bloom and the little Dun on the yard is coughing and spluttering like a good'un.

My Appy is having trouble when the wind is in the East, we think that it is because there is rape to the East, although a good way away. She is much better when it is in the West. I do think the tree pollen is not helping either. I suffer from it too and we seem to have problems at the same time. Hacks are interesting with us both coughing and spluttering.

Tey putting a nose net one her when you ride and using a fly mask with a nose cover. It seems to help the little Dun up our yard no end.
