Hi,
Can anyone tell me about local farm rides - know about Somerford, Crow Wood etc. But are there any others? Even less well known ones where there is really nice off road hacking? Don't have to be 'official' farm rides, as there are probably places where we could box up to such as local moorland or designated bridleways.

Bored of having to go straight on to a main road before reaching any decent hacking where we don't have to deal with numpty motorists!
Ta :)

What part of Lancs are you?

As everyone else has said, the well known farm rides are good. You could box over to the pennine way bridleway, or the Mary Townley loop, which are great for hacking...

Hi. you're not far from me really. It would be very easy to get onto the penine bridleways above the moors - Saddleworth - Delph/Marsden border of Lancs and W Yorks has parking where you could leave a trailer. Make sure you stick to paths though - the moors are very boggy and you'd sink in the peat if you went off route. There are some really good gallop tracks up there though, and stunning views. Great in summer on hot days - theres always a breeze. Can be bleak in winter!
