I'm going to enter the area festival at the end of the month and I was just wandering what its like up there.

Is it a spooky venue?
What are the surfaces like? and does the working in tend to get busy?

Any advice would be great.

i have never done pure dressage there...so i dont know for that...but hwne i event there or sj there it isnt too crowded in the warm up as they have a pre warm up arena and then only a few people are allowed into the next warm up arena which is just before you go in...also they have an indoor arena which gets a bit deep...despite it being indoors and they have the outdoor arena which is nice. the outdoor arena is the rubber chips surface which i personally like but i know not everyone does.

It sounds like theres loads of room

Im happy with that, thanks.

It's a really nice place. Been to quite a lot of BD comps there (and the last two area festivals) and they are always well run. Arenas are good, usually plenty of room in the warm - up, and the catering is fab! Hope you have a better time at the festival than at the regionals. Good luck!

When I was up in Yorkshire a couple of years ago I used to go to Richmond quite alot and I quite liked going there. They also did yummy food!
