Note: I spoke to the vet when it happened and horse is booked in to be scoped, I'm just interested in other experiences.
12 year old had a random nose bleed on Saturday evening. It was a trickle of blood with some small bits of tissue in it. Took about 3 hours to stop. The vet said that's pretty normal but to book him in for a scope to check for mycosis given there was no obvious cause.
On Sunday horse had a couple of very small bleeds that clotted quickly. This morning totally clear, this evening a small amount of slightly snotty blood. He has been behaving completely normally throughout - eating, alert etc.
Given the snotty nature of today's discharge I'm wondering if a sinus infection is the most likely cause? I don't know much about mycosis and can't find much either but I don't think it involves snot? Wondering what experiences others have of these kind of symptoms?
