Does anyone no where i can get a net or similar to help cover my cobs nose, he has got such a sunburnt nose and its still sore 7 days later making putting sunblock on almost impossible due to him chucking his head in the air and trying to trample me as its so sore... i thought is i could get some sort of cover and attach to a nose band?? the ones on ebay are black so im not sure if they would refect the sun or not and i dont particulary want net that covers his head completely think he would freak out completely at that! thanks

A different way to do it would be to get a fly free headcollar, and make your own noseband attachement of white/sunproof cotton, by folding it over and sewing it...just a thought?

equilibrium nose nets attach to headcollars and work great with mine and sis horses. blocks 80% of sun out. We put suncream on as well in case they get the headcollar off - they play a lot you see

yes my boy plays alot he's 3 this year but has spent most of his life tethered as a gypsy horse, i think he might try and eata nose net, but i need to try something! he also trys to rub off sun block too.... typical man!

I bought a couple of nose protectors and they didn't even last a night. I'm not sure if he pulled them off or the other ponies were swinging from them!

A much cheaper (but slightly time consuming) way is to use part of an old tea towel. Fold a couple of inches over and sew, making sure that you can thread the noseband of the headcollar through if you've got one that has a buckle. Double stitch it to make it stronger.

I've made a few just in case they go missing in the field. One tends to last a couple of nights.
