what noseband would i use for riding horse classes? and what thickness would you have for a fine, head horse?

I had this problem with my Anglo. We don't show but wanted a nice bridle for DR and eventing. I found so many had really thick nosebands which a fine Arab head would look stupid in. I bought a Keifer Nancy II in the end and am really pleases. Keifer do a HUGE range and Jeffries also have nice showing bridles for the finer head. As with anything depends on what you want to pay. Keiffer was about £130 with webbed reins(which I hate so another £50 for half rubber) Jeffries range from about £150 up excluding reins

I have 1" 3/8 on my riding horse and 1" on my hack. Some riding horses have 1" 1/2 and others have 1", it depends on the head and what flatters it best. FMM would be a good person to ask for a bit more experience as to how to choose, their riding horses seem to wear a variety of noseband styles iirc.

I get my show tack from Gerry Reynolds http://grsaddlery.co.uk/contact-us/ If you call him he will send you samples of the the thickness so you can try them against the horse and then order what you need. You can just buy separate pieces to go with your existing tack, he is really helpful.
