There was a post a little while back about a noseband that looked like a flash but was called something else.

It's like a cavesson with the flash part stitched across the top of the noseband, not attached to a loop at the bottom of it.

Anybody know what it's called?

No.

It still goes round the mouth but instead of passing through a loop attached to the noseband, it is actually stitched to the top of it.

I've looked for one all over and can't find one, which is why I'm thinking it'd help if I actually had a name for it.

I saw a pony at the weekend wearing one. It was like a cavasson with a 'flash' cut from the same piece of leather rather than stitched on to it. Sorry dont know the name either :-$

Nope, not the micklem.

I have also done a search on Kentaur and that doesn't turn anything up.

Ah well, I'll have to keep searching.
Thanks anyway.

I know exactly the kind you mean - instead of having a little tab that the flash noseband passes through, the flash is stitched directly on to a wide flat hunter style noseband. Looks a lot smarter than a normal flash and is often used for working hunter classes and the like. I didn't think it had a specific name, I always though people must've had them custom made by a saddler as I've never seen one for sale!

sounds like a Worcester. They are patented to Shires so you will find them there.
