Noseband sizes... slightly confused!

Ok so I went out to buy a drop nose band for my fella. He is a cob size caveson noseband so brought a drop in that size. Got it home and put it on. On the lowest hole it sits perfectly where a caveson should

So is clearly too small. Not enough leater left to punch any lower holes in it so it sits right either. Do you generally have this problem with nosebands? I would imagine a full would be too big but I shall try...

Is the drop noseband the same make as the cavesson? If not it's most likely to be a sizing issue with the makers, try the cob size from the company your cavessons from.
I do have problems with noseband fitting, but then i do have a horse with an odd sized head!

Different makes do vary and sometimes quite a lot in size, so agree with the above poster.
