at the moment i am having serious schooling issues my horse is saying i know what you want but dont want to now i am wondering if it is something to do with his nose band as he really objects to it being fastened it is a crank padded his teeth are ok so i am wondering if a drop noseband is worth trying HELP cos i am at my wits end and it is becoming a toil of a pleasure

I would try, Cranks are far too easy to over tighten and if he is objecting to it, he must be uncomfortable.

I'm not entirely happy with cranks - the name says it all really. Admittedly, any noseband over tightened is detrimental, but the crank does seem to be a bit too fashionable and not entirely understodd right now.

thats one thing that i never do is tighten it too much i am very carefull not to

Does he cross his jaw or open his mouth or something and is that why he's currently in a crank?

he just seems to set himself so i cant get any bend or flexion

have teeth, back, saddle looked at if you haven't done that already, then i'd try a drop, correctly fitted (4 fingers' width above top of nostril) it doesn't need to be tight. maybe a change of bit too?

done all the checks i have got him in a fulmar snaffle

Bit radical i know but try without anything and see if the tension goes. If it does then you know its noseband based!
