Nosey Pony

My pony is perfect (ish) in the school when he's around other horses, but as soon as he's out at a show or even on a hack and he sees horses he doesnt know, he comes out of an outline and into head-straight-up mode . What can I do to stop him?? Thanks

Maybe try some circles to get him listening? haha hello!!

My pony does exactly this. I make sure i have more than enough time to warm up so i can let him have a good look at everything and eye up the mares, then its down to business. I get him calmed down and relaxed and eventually he goes back into an outline and can produce a nice test/show.
