Hi All

I was just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before.
My horse is bright bay (as you can prob tell from the pics!) and he's recently developed some striking black marks above his withers, where co-incidentally (or not) I have been applying a product which has spilled on this area.
Have you seen anything like this? This is the first year that he has been full clipped- could this have anything to do with the unusual hair growth?

Thanks for any opinions

That's really odd

What product are you using? Looks almost as if he's been dyed!

I've seen similar markings in chestnuts though, they're just a sort of variation in the coat. Never in a bay though, and usually in blotches or patches, and these are streaks! Sorry, I wasn't very helpful... Perhaps stop using the product for a bit, see if they dissapear?

Hi Law,

Either its the photo - or to me that hair looks slightly longer and possibly dead? Could just be the coat shedding and the dead hair turning a different colour (plus they all get lighter in the summer).

Does the hair come out when you pull it gently?
