hi everyone , last week millie tore her dew claw, trip to vets big bandage (see my other post) took her for a walk tonight and shes torn her other dew claw !! why the vet didn't trim that one at the same time i dont know. has anyone had the dew claws taken off ? if so how much does it cos, pros and cons and are they in pain for long?
dam and she was ment to start agility training tomorrow oh well.

Had my greyhounds removed...cos she was always catching them...no pain a few tiny stitches and heels in no time....I didn't pay...cos im a nurse at vets....so can't help there.

I am having my boys back dew claws off when he is castrated next week, and they have quoted an additional £40-50. We decided it was definitely worth it, and likely to hurt him less than his catching them!

dew claws are a pain my whippet had hers ripped but has healed up nicely without taking her to the vets, my other whippet has had hers removed when she was a pup, which i will certainly will be doing if and when i decide to breed from her...its less tramatic if they have them removed at 3 or 4 days old than when they are alot older
