I posted a while ago about a chestnut welsh I was off to see. Saw her sunday evening, she was lovely, looked great, moved really nicely, needs rebreaking but saw her tacked up and sat on her and she didn't bat an eyelid. Really liked her but was having a think about whether I had the knowledge to take her on. They said no rush in letting them know so said I would by midweek. I called them tuesday morning to say yes, but got no answer so left a message. Hadn't heard until this morning when I got an email saying because they hadn't heard from me sooner they thought I didn't want her and have been offered a free stallion covering so are going to keep her. They told me there was no rush! And when I asked why they were selling they said they had no time, money or desire for another foal!! I thought it was just buyers that time wasted but seems sellers are at it too now. I am not impressed

unfortunately it is still their horse so technically they can do what they like with it, though if you said you would contact them by midweek they should have waited til midweek for an answer, hopefully you will find something equally as good or better, she did look lovely though

Yeh I know it is, just rather disappointed. Also, her first response to me was something along the lines of 'firstly are you a timewaster? coz i've had loads and i'm sick of it etc etc...' I guess when it came down to her actually going they realised they didn't want to let her go, rather hypocritical though, boo

Maybe they just had a change of heart, everyone is guilty of it sometimes, unfortunatley on this occassion it effected you.

Maybe it just wasnt meant to be?, having said that though, they soon changed their minds from selling to breeding lol and arranged a stallion to use...blimey, have they even seen the stallion in the flesh?

Hope you find something else, you never know though, you could ring them back and try to convince them that selling her to you would be a best for the mare....no harm in it.

this is what i did... i went to see a pony a few weeks ago, and was very interested. however, my viewing/interest made them realise they were actually going to sell him, and the kids suddenly changed their minds. they decided not to sell him.

so... i rang them back and said i totally understood, as he was so lovely, i wouldn't want to sell him either, but that if they changed their minds, to let me know.

three days later they rang... and he's now all tucked up with us:

As someone that sells a lot of horses and buys a lot of horses - it is definately the sellers that waste more of my time!!

I think she's rather pretty, if you like her and your happy with the price, just ring up again and say look I'm not wasting your time, I'm offering you £££ cash and I'll pick her up tomorrow etc and see what they say, if there don't accept leave em to it.

She looks lovely too, and yes similar price, but just too far away

I'm in Hampshire. The one I looked at was walking distance from my place, she was perfect! I think I will call them again at the weekend, doesn't harm to ask. Just really gutted.

Oh no! I was wondering if you bought her or not. I'm looking for a connie or ID atm and have encountered many seller timewasters. Then found my perfect horse, wanted him and the owner decided not to sell!

Still looking......

Hope you find something soon!
