Well basic story whenever i go home to Jersey if there is some showing on I take out my mum's friends horse. He is purely a happy hacker and never sees the inside of an arena etc unless I'm over and he gets about one outing a year if he is lucky but last showing outing was over 2 years ago now. BUT the important thing is previous owner schooled him to perfection so i just get on and he never forgets what buttons do what.
All showing in Jersey is unaffiliated but a fairly decent standard at the top end.
Did the Middleweight hunters and got pulled in 4th and moved up to 3rd after the ride as he always gives a fantastic ride.
Decided to stick him in the novice workers as he has minimal BSJA winnings so even though old was egliable. Oh yes and he last left the floor a year ago!!!!
went in first proceeded to spook at some ladies having a picnic ringside but went clear, I then watched the rest of the class obliterate the course. Only the last rider in could also go clear but she as soon as we trotted as class she asked to leave as apparently lame
Well we won the class mostly as only clear got a nice big trophy and rosettes (which Owner keeps but she gave me the prize money.
)
Then thought might as well stay for the championship although seeing the large WH winners didn't think would have a chance but lo and behold we won!!!!!!!!!
Put a few noses out of joint as well we turned up doing no prep etc and won!
got to go back Sunday now for the supreme championship which will be fun
