Not good news - gutted

Following on from Rocks saga, today he was hopping lame, wouldnt put any weight on his leg at all
Called the vet up, and looks like on wednesday my farrier put in a nail too deep or a bit wonky, and its got infected

explains why he was dancing around so much when he was being shod!!
So now hes being hot tubbed and hot poulticed twice a day, on bute and on box rest

poor baby, he was in SO much pain poor lad

Tell me bout it, no xmas hack all tinselled up! Still at least he did it now, hopefully *touch wood* that means he might get over it before competitions start again!

Was he shod before he had his rearing episode? Might explain why he started acting up! Whilst you are understandably upset that you can't ride for a while, there could have been a lot worse diagnoses - at least you know what it is and how to treat it and he will be back to normal soon.

Yep def glad its not worse!!
Nah he had his rearing episode before he was shod so unfortunaltey no excuse

odd how it all came at once though, just my luck!

The other alternative is that the abscess was brewing BEFORE he was shod, which would explain the rearing and the fact that he was restless when shod!

Interesting to see how he behaves when he comes back into work!
