I will apologise for the rant in advance!!! Well since competing in may on an uneven surface (thank you organisers!) my mare hasn't been right, she's undergone, nerve blocks and xrays, had joint injections etc, but now it looks like she's strained her collateral ligaments around the coffin joint!!!..... So another 3 months rest, this time box rest, as not improving on field rest!! So a years competing gone out the window!! And no horse to ride! (Yes I have 3 but the other 2 are yearlings!)

Ontop of that our renault scenic went poof yesterday, basically an engine rebuild needed! £1500!!!!! And the cars only 6 years old!!! That's ontop of the £700 already paid out on it this year for other repairs!!! Warning never buy a renault!! It seems there are alot of problems with the scenic and renault aren't owning up to it!!!

And then to top of a wonderful day the ovens stopped working!

Rant over!!........

So now to try and look on the bright side, the family is healthy, I still have 3 lovely fab horses which I love to pieces!! And one of them is the above mares son who I can't wait to get started on, he's gonna be a big boy though!!!!

Sorry to hear you're having such a bad day - look on the bright side, it's a long Bank Holiday weekend :) Don't forget; you had a choice of whether to compete or not. If the going was that bad perhaps you should have scratched? Hindsight is a wonderful thing.........:)

Yes I agree it is my fault and hindsight is most definately a wonderful thing, pity we don't have it beforehand!!!!

Snap competition diva......my boy has been intermittently lame since April...just as he was getting fit for the coming season of course.

Had him to Edinburgh for MRI this week and it also looks like collateral ligament damage :( Plus, there may be some other bits and pieces going on. So, he has had remedial shoeing, coffin joint injections and is on 2 weeks box rest with some walk out until the specialist report comes in, then we shall go from there.

I'm so gutted - we did our first mini ODE this time last year and was planning on lots more. OH bought me some lovely treehouse XC colours and they haven't even been out of the drawer!

I don't even want to think about the worst case scenario with collaterals.....Vet told me that only 30% (bad cases) come back into useful or competition work...just hoping that's not Gull, as she reckons the injury is 'relatively mild'!

They say bad things come in threes. Hope that's your lot. Cars are the worst! I had so m uch trouble last year at one point I was sat about 1 mile from the mechanic and he came to tow me back. I was crying and he was really rude "it's just a car luv". Well I know that, but I just paid to fix it and didn't get a mile! So frustrating
