Zak seems to be chucking his head up and down when doing flatwork, almost as if he had a fly on his nose and trying to get rid of it, but he doesnt have a fly there!!He is in a french link hanging cheek, his teeth have been checked. He also plays with the bit alot, turns his head to one side and chews on it. Could it be the bit or just that he is bored?thanks

Mine does this out hacking, with a few reasons, trying to get away from the contact - why are you making me work out on a hack !!!!??? (cause you fall over otherwise) and the other is to play with it in his mouth, he does it in a waterford too but not mullen mouth pieces

Ive just changed mine from a loose ring french link. In walk he was quite happy to accept the bit and work in quite a nice outline. However in trot he was very resistant to any contact and would throw his head around

Tried him in a straight bar happpy mouth and its like riding a different horse! |He loves it is happy to accept a contact in both walk and trot. were still a bit iffy in canter, but he's only young and very green so i wouldnt expect him too all the time.

H is happy in trot and walk in an outline but as soon as canter, unless he has a buddy trying to race him then head is up in the air !!!!! Me holding on tight to steady him makes him go a goorrrgggeeeee rounded bouncy outline. !!! wrong I know !!

we rarely (never) school in skool but must admit he accepts the contact more out hacking and is less on the forehand.
