Does anybody know what kind of places you can volunteer at at Christmas (Day) I don't have loads of spare time, but could give a couple of hours. I do not know where to look!

The Salvation Army are usually very pleased of some help - contact your local branch and ask them if they could use an extra pair of hands.

google your local homeless shelters, they are very likely to be doing a meal etc. and would love help, or if you have a skill often Shelter run events all over where people come and donate their time - e.g. hairdressers do free haircuts, etc

I wonder if you could offer your 'horsey' or other animal skills to a local animal sanctuary, after all the animals still need just as much care as on other days and I bet the staff would love to be able to get off a couple of hours early/have time for lunch at home!
