I am in the process of looking for a loan horse and its so difficult! I've seen a few; one wasn't the confidence giver he was advertised as, one was offered to me but still on the market so could be taken away at any time. I am looking for something to move yards, 15.1hh up, bombproof, been there done that. Am I asking the impossible??

Have you tried a charity ie WHW, they are very good at matching you with right horse and very honest.

I've had a look but the majority are midlands and further south and I'm in Northumberland. I don't think I'd be having so much trouble if I was in the south east

That sort are ALWAYS going to be snapped up quickly, whether for loan or for sale.

Do you have any local rescue charities?

Not that I know of. Even the rspca don't have any in this area

It might be a little journey, but the RSPCA at felledge in Chester le street , County Durham often have cobs on their books for adoption. They had a lovely looking gelding on end of last year.
I know when I was looking for my first share I came across a lot of horses, not what they said on the tin, thought I'd found my perfect girl....... Be sure to get plenty of references and try to find out as much as you can about horses history, and not particularly from the owner either.......
