Some of you may remember that in July this year I competed at the Royal Navy Champs at Quob in Southampton and did well on the Saturday but fell on the Sunday ending up with a small hairline fracture to my coccyx, or bum bone as some of you put it!!! Well on Saturday I took 2 girls out on a hack, I know them quite well and they are good little riders. Decided to go in the forestry, and a deer jumped out infront of the mare I was riding, and she was so frightened she actually threw herself on the floor, then jumped up, I was amazed as I was still on at this point although lost both stirrups and very unbalanced, and thought I can save myself, well, until she swung round so quick I got flung off the side and hit a tree. The mare bolted and ran all the way back to the stables. What can I say.....OUCHIES!!! Got a bruise on my jaw, shoulder, and even my boob!! Sprained my wrist and my hat is now fit for the bin. Think I'm just going to give up riding until January 2011!!! :D

OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!. I'm surprised you are still walking, but look on the brightside 2011 is only 4 months away:D:D:D:D:D Take a very hot bath to bring out the bruising:p:p:p:p:p. Hope mare and the two kiddies ok:D:D:D

The mare is fine thanks, once she calmed down, she munched away on her hay like nothing had happened!! And the kids are fine, they are 16 and 15 years so they took hold of the situation and dealt with it so well, very proud of them both :)

Poor you! My sympathies to you, having ridden in the forest you are talking about I know how many times deer have surprised me and ned!
Get better soon!
