Not quite the end results of my first 100 that I'd hoped for....

So off I trundled to Homme House on Wednesday for mine and pony's first ever 100 and didn't quite end the way I expected it too....

Good dressage of 31.8 which left us in at least the top 10, one down SJ as I just hurried him a bit too much into an oxer but still pleased, and then onto the XC with my usually XC machine.... Got all the way round to 13 with no problems, all ready quite a lot of questions answered by my amazing pony so round to this roll top type jump going downhill with on landing a tight right hand turn with 4 strides to a hedge-sort of jump. We have done similar questions at 90 and when XC schooling but I guess not going downhill and not in a 100 course where pone just needed the jockey to help a little more. George thought otherwise of the first part, scooted round it and then lost said jockey after scooting round said jump with me landing on the floor with a nasty bump to my head and bum whilst pony ran off in the distance, whom actually coincidentally ran straight to my trainer.
Anyway I've ended up with concussion, spent all the rest of that evening and yesterday feeling like s**t and sorry for myself. And now, although still concussed am doing what any horsey person would do and am thinking about my next event xD

I had already entered Wellington 100 at the end of this month but am now thinking of withdrawing, going XC schooling in between time (more for my confidence!) and then heading to West Wilts BE100 in September and then possibly Munstead?

However just wanted peoples opinions on this plan please, recommendations on West wilts and Mustead? And even Wellington if people think it is an okay one!
Thanks all :)

What a shame, hope your head feels better soon. Was it your horse that galloped through the ropes? Nearly wiped me out on my beasty as we were going out on the first loop :p
West Wilts is a lovely straightforward 100 track

Thanks have heard that about West Wilts but then people had said Homme was nice too and obviously wasn't for me :P

Question about Munstead... is there an alternative to the drop into water? As cannot quite make out from photos/ videos if there is black lines on the flags of the water which would indicate that there is an alternative? Thanks

West Wilts is nice, haven't been to Munstead though.

Is there any chance you could change your Wellington entry to the 90? That is what I would do, then crack on with your 100's :)

Wellington starts at 100

I've got my qualifier at Solihull next sat which is a 90 but now feel like Wellington be100 will be too much and would like more time to re prepare for a 100 (not that it's taken me all year to pluck up the courage to do a 100 anyway *sighs*)

See how you feel in a little while. FWIW - Wellington is straightforward but a bold galloping track, WW- I have never been but again heard good things & Munstead very straightforward too. But your confidence is key...a wise woman once said to me...you should never leave the XC start box unless you are 100% committed to what lies ahead. Only you know whether XC schooling will help you - some people find it a bit "sterile" without the adrenaline of the comp environment. If I were you as another poster said - maybe you should step down a level next (although, as you know, Wellington doesn't' have a 90)? Sometimes making it "easy" at the next comp is just what is needed to get you both back on track. Good luck :)
