Right so sorry to add yet another "what tall boot" thread onto this forum BUT, holy cow I am honestly at my wits end.
So I came to the conclusion that I will have to suck up my need for constantly being 'casual & comfy' around horses and will buy some nice tall boots for my near-future dressage I'll be undertaking.
What a pilava! I have seen quite a few I loved the look of but non come close to being my size. I have looked up old threads from here and checked the answers, still no good!
So far I've looked at the Tredstep (Donatello), Mountain Horse High Rider, Ariat Heritage Contour, MarkToadd and finally Toggi Cartwright (which I love the look of!).

My measurements are: calf height: 15 inches/38cm (more like 14 1/2 but allowing for drop...) and 15"/38cm width. I am 5"2 when I stand up reeeally straight and just have muscular calfs.
It seems I have to spend £300+ to have them made to measure and most of those boots (I find) are ugly as sin!
So most boots which would otherwise fit around the calf are usually 16"/41cm high, and the childrens boots that are perfect height have piddly calf sizes of 12" or something.

I might have to go for the dreaded boots and gaiters... *gulp*

Have you looked at Regent Boots? They have all the measurements on their website.

I have had a pair for years and they still look really good so would recommend if they fit you

I am 5'2" but with really muscley calfs, i have the Mark Todd book in wide fitting and they are not too long for me. Not sure what width their standard width ones are?

I'd also give Brogini a try. They seem to have options for calf height and width, although I don't know if the cheaper ones have fewer options. I've not got any myself but a very all skinny friend got a pair of long narrow ones from there.

The other option would be to try a heel lift inside the boot. I have the Mountain Horse Firenze High Riders (which I think are beautiful) and they were digging into the back of my knee. I bought heel lift insoles and put them in and they're great - they've even made the boot more comfy to walk in as they're really cushioned!

I tried on every type of long boot I could get off the peg but nothing fitted so ended up getting some DeNiro boots made to measure which are fab. Would highly recommend them although I did pay £525 for them, I think they are worth every penny.

I feel your pain - literally with blisters to prove it. I am exactly your measurements and have never managed to find long boots to fit. My husband got so fed up with me moaning that he paid for me to have custom boots made. I find even wellies and casual country type boots are now all 16" as standard. Can us short legged please start a revolution - I can't afford custom wellies!

I have the Ariat Volante boots (with the twisted red zip which I regret buying as cant use them for WH due to colour - so if anyone wants to buy them off me, let me know - size 7, short leg length!). They come in 3 different lengths I think, I bought the regular first but they were too long so had to get the short length which are fine. They also do different calf sizes. Might be worth a look?

I have managed to lose mine.... :/ So am also looking. They were Broginis and I really liked them. Got them in the sale and it was the only size they had so I just went for it lol!! (needed them quickly) Not quite as tall as I'd have liked but they fit and were very comfy, and held up well, which is more than I can say for every other tall boot I have owned! I have to say, avoid zips if possible as that is always the first thing to go! I've had two pairs of Mark Todds and zips went within a couple of months. Friend had same problem with her Ariats. I'm going to go to a second hand tack shop soon and see if they have anything. Some of these older boots last and last.

I really like the look of the Tredsteps, anyone owned a pair? I really don't want to spend more than £80 so need something on sale or second hand....

The Mark Todd wide fitting ones are brilliant - The were on sale not long ago for only £60 too. Look out and you might find good deals.

I got my broginis at a steal from eBay. Apparently seconds but we're perfect when they arrived. Have a massive range of sizes and the seller I got mine from also had the full range of sizes. I have super muscly calves so I sent line to a place in Kent and for 20 squids inc postage they stretched them for me. When I got mine back they were so comfy, as if they had already been worn in! Would highly recommend the boots and the stretching service!

Just had a look and Eileen Douglas tacks hop on eBay has a sale on them. I typed in brogini boot sale and she was top

Wow, thanks all of you so much. I was getting irrationally irate over such a silly thing!

The Ariat contour ones do come in a short length, are those still too long on you?

Yes unfortunately. By about 2 inches :/
It seems most "short" cut boots are 41cm/16".

annagain, you might be on to something with the heel lift! I am at my wits end.

The only tall boots I have that fit me perfectly are the Kanyon Gorse (regular height, wide fit) but they are in a mid brown colour and not smart enough for dressage in any way!

You've all given me a lot to think about but by all means keep the ideas coming!

I think these are the ones I bought. They're really comfy once they're on although they make getting my foot in a bit of an effort.

I'm 5'4" at a stretch but have massive calves so take a 38 boot with a plus 2 width. Tried everything on the market and finally found a lovely Italian brand: Umbria. Butter soft leather and beautifully made. So good I bought 2 pairs. Cost around GBP 225 per pair. First pair has lasted nearly 3 years so second pair still in the box. They cater for all sized legs width and length wise. I get loads of comments on them. No time to break in and the comfiest boots I have ridden in.
You can order them online too.

OP, are you sure you have your measurements correct?

If they are correct, the Ariat Heritage Contours (short medium) will fit, Mark Todd Field Competition (wide) will fit, Tuffa Derby (wide) will fit. I know this because they all fit me and I measure 15 1/2" from floor to back of knee, and have 15 1/2" calves.

I honestly never thought I would get into Ariats (after all, only skinny people can wear them I thought) and was persuaded to try them on. I was over the moon that I only needed a medium leg from them, and not XXW :)

Yes sure they are the correct measurements. I must be a very odd shape really as I'm only a 10 dress size.

I will look at the ones you've listed more carefully. I was eyeing up Mark Todd boots before. And I love Ariat boots, like you I never thought the long ones would fit me!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Don't know how to edit so.....Just ordered the Mark Todd Leather Field boot in a short wide size 4 (got them for £80 online by the way!). Fingers crossed!

Oh, fingers crossed for you.

I remember the hours of frustration when I was searching. I just hope my Ariat chaps will do up when I am cleared to ride again as my left ankle is now very much fatter than it was before I broke it :(

I had the exact same problem with almost identical measurements. And having a shoe size 3 didn't help either as many of the brand's start at 4! Eventually I gave up and settled for nice leather chaps and short boots. Hope you can find something to suit!
