The day been dreading has arrived due to my grey 3 year old.... As loads of you know Tom my big horse had had chronic lamintitis... We had him xrayed around a week after the start of the attack and there was no rotation but he had sunk slightly..but as my vet was at pains to explain it is like when you bash your fingernail it does not drop off straight away so really we have xrayed too early to get a real picture of his feet and the damage..

Well after a month from hell with all the horses my grey has chosen to cut underneath his jaw and 6 staples later it settled down only to blow up again after four days so now he has to have his jaw xrayed.... that means vet on yard with digital xray and Tom on same yard and I know we are gonna have to do his feet..... I am just terrified as to what is in there I know it is irrational but I really just don't want to know... hence why I need a slap. but with all that has happened my luck has got to change!!!! help!!!!

(((hugs))) and ((vibes)) for you and your horses.

Don't stress over the x-ray. Lots of horses have become sound, through good management and the correct trimming and shoeing, so all hope is not lost!

It's horrible, but try and be positive, from what I remember you've been doing a great job so far!!

As daunting as it may be, knowing what you are dealing with will make it easier. All the uncertainty and fearing the worst will be gone. It might be bad but it might be better than you think, but either way you will at least know what to do next. Fingers crossed for both of them.

thank you.... I know I have just had the most horrendous month with them all totally unralated accidents and problems just got to wits end starting to think it is me.....

Good luck with the X-rays, OP. I agree, once you KNOW, at least you'll be able to devise an action plan. I know the feeling of thinking you're cursed. I was having a similar feeling earlier this year!
