Sorry, another numpty clipping-related post!
Not sure whether or not I should clip this Saturday, or wait longer.
I have a hunter trial on Sun, so thought it'd be nice for him to look smart. He's also been getting pretty sweaty when cantering/galloping out in the fields (or doing exciting things like jumping
), to the point that I had to hose him off today (did rub him down with a towel and make sure he was dry before i left).
However, he's not *that* furry- he is a TB, though, so obviously won't ever be growing a shetland-style coat!- I got him at the start of April this year, so haven't ever actually seen his proper winter coat, so don't know how thick it'll be.
I'm also concerned about clipping while it's still mild, having to rug, and then therefore having to put on hundreds of rugs once it's REALLY cold (if that makes sense?)!
And also it growing back quickly at this time of year?
I know he can always be redone, but I have to pay groom to do it (i'm AWFUL at clipping unless it's mane hogging
) so would rather minimise amount if possible.
Any advice welcomed. Thanks
