Tonight my little gerbil, Digger, died :(

'tis a very sad night is the house, the little critter was the best gerbil ever and took great delight in terrorising the dogs! He was perfecting the art of chasing Otto round in his little ball. He will be leaving a small gerbil shaped hole in our lives :(

Funeral is to be held tomorrow morning, Otto has selflessly volunteered to dig the grave, and also offered his services as pall bearer.

Oh no - poor Digger :(

I remember when my son's hamster died - he too was the best and prettiest hamster in the world - we were all so upset :(

He was nearly 4 so doing well for a gerbil! He'd lived in 5 different houses, travels 100s of miles backwards and forwards from uni and was as tough as old boots! He'd been looking a bit ropey recently so we'd been spoiling him, but tonight when we went to give him his night seeds, he didn't get up. Died nice and comfy in his posh log cabin though!

RIP little digger. I had gerbils when I was little and loved the way they drummed their feet if they were worried.
