not the best thing to happen leading up to a competition

Started off...was really looking forward to my hack. put my mp3 player in my pocket tuned it on....and off we went! WE had a little walk....stopped to say hello to about 20 people...yes the whole kissing thing in France!! Carried on, had a trot, then ealised whee i normally have a canter was covered in long grass, but being me i decided to have a canter anyway...I know what the ground is like, and its eally nice for a canter, had a fab canter, trotted for a little while, then walked.

Turned off the track to find somewhere new, had a canter up this track as seemed really nice and quite sandy

!!! got to the top brought him back to trot, then back to a walk! Walked fo about 10 mins the realised the my earing was starting to fall out so i stopped, took it out properly put it in my pocket and starting trotting...then realised i had something lumpy and sharp inside my jodphurs - the butterfly!! So stopped again got it out...everything was fine once again!!

We than had a canter up this track, we were nearing a crossing (in the tracks!) I wanted to go straight ahead, but i could feel Hemir trying to go left and as we neared the turning H was going too fast to make the turning ( i didn't slow him down becaus ei didn't want to turn) and slipped as we went round, I went flying across the track, have got grass stains on my jods and Im in a lot of pain (right knee and calf)...He didn't get up for a minute or two, i was getting worried, as this has happened before, in the field, and he has always gotten up before me

In the end he got up, looked a little dazed, i checked his legs and everything seemed ok

I hesitated on walking him back inhand the took a step, and could hardly put pressure on my right leg

So got back on, walke doff down the hill, got back to the road., walke dalong the road for a little while, the turned off onto a track. I decided i needed to have a trot, I know if Hemir didn't want to do it he wouldn't have responded to my leg! We ended up having a canter...which was really calm and i think quite collected

nice to have that after a fall!! I know it pobably wasn't the best solution but He would have told me if he wasn't ready

By this time my leg was feeling a little better and i was enjoying my hack again...BUT... HEmir got a horse fly betweenhis legs and had a bucking fit on the road

FLy obviously went because walking back in the village Hemir was fine, not silly, NOTHING bothered him, not even the scary tractors that make him spook normally

Got home and i couldn't get off i was in soo much pain

mum had to help me down, then sort Hemir our for me, i did shower him down though

anyway im feeling rather sh!te right now, and very sore

I'm supposed to be going to a sports thing tomorrow, will still be going but not to do any of the activities

Get some arnica, tablets and or cream. It works wonders for easing the pain and helping the bruising and swelling. I keep the tablets in my car.
