vets coming out next week to give fox his jags and im going to get him scoped for gastric ulcers and i think theyve come back, showing all the signs he did when he had them when i first got him.

however i noticed tonight he did something odd when he was taking a wee that i havent seen him do before, he was kind of stopping and starting then the wee kind of "exploded" (literally the only word i can think to describe it) rather than coming out in a stream, then when he was finished he stood for ages in peeing position holding his head really high, then went back to eating his hay but held his tail up for ages.

was he just enjoying his pee and im being a paranoid mum or could this be something else?

I'm not really sure but maybe does he need a hand shifting his "bean"? :o
Hope he gets the all clear on the ulcers!

Ha ha! I read the Mr Hand thing ^ out to my friend the other day who is trying to desensitise her horse to being touched in this general area and she giggled her way through it :D It's a bit icky but I guess sometimes it just has to be done  .... geldings *sigh*

it made me laugh too. the part about having an odd smell about you for a while makes me nervous! is it awful that ive never cleaned foxs? PLEASE DONT SHOOT ME FOR THAT. i just remembered being told many moons ago that if you cleaned it once you would have to keep doing it, but if you didnt clean it you wouldnt have to.. that sounds ridiculous now actually but tbh hes never really looked like it needed cleaned!

It's worth getting to grips with it ;) or at least familiar with what it looks like or I wouldn't have noticed the changes on my lads (prob cancerous) quite so early.

I don't think so, I've had Loki for over a year now and he's always been squeeky clean and weeing fine on his own before :)
I did give him a skoosh of baby oil today "down there" because there were little flecks of soil on it.... he was not impressed! and wouldn't talk to me till I'd handed over the carrots :D
