Notts and Derbyshire areas.
I have recieved a message from a good friend saying,there have been 3 sightings of 2 suspicious men with eastern european accents,photographing local horses.
they have been seen at shows,events and even in a horse owners field taking pictures of their horses.
this could be a steal to order gang.
They have been seen in a white van reg N253 XAJ, also in a red land cruiser.
The police are treating this as suspicious so please keep your eyes open and report any sightings to the police urgently.

That was an email circulated from last year and scared everyone, yes there is an increase nationally of thefts but support and join your local horsewatch and receive local and national bulletins from a verifiable source. There is a thread about this message on this forum I will see if I can find it, the chap taking photos with that car reg is a photographer I seem to remember.

as you can see the email spread nationwide, everyone had seen these people, car reg and vehicles everywhere, nationwide panic, looks like someone thought it might be funny to start again

Just google the registration to see how much it was talked about last year, if you see a suspicious vehicle note the numberplate and make and phone it through to the police, if safe, and possible, take a photo on your camera phone.

We have loads of calls of a suspicious vehicle but they forget to note any details.

We've had reports from the Longden area of Shrewsbury about cold callers taking photos of and enquiring if horses are for sale. The male in question described as tall thin ginger hair. A white transit and red car were seen in area. Please call in if you see any suspicious behaviour or vehicles. Ref: 0205S 180809
