Hi I am finding my mare lacking a bit in energy & stamina now I have stepped up her work and fast work since just going novice. She is only on pasture mix and very good quality haylage as she can put on weight easily. Too much startch can also means she suffers with low grade colic. Tend to use a mix as she isnt keen on cubes & nuts any ideas please.

I found when my horse lacked stamina on the XC Tiger Oats fed for 3 days before hand helped a lot. However this year I swapped him onto Winergy Medium Energy and it has been brilliant - lots of energy, loads of stamina, not insane to ride and he loves it. I feed far less than they recommend, just half a round scoop a day and he looks amazing on it.

if prone to colic i would deffo suggest the winergy, its amazing stuff! I feed my intermediate eventer low energy and he's absolutely fine on it and virtually impossible to tire out but he's never sharp!

Also if shes prone to colic I wouldn't feed something starchy like naked or rolled oats, I would try redcell or propell first? Whenever ours reach novice we put them on it
