Went to see lovely horse, really liked her, was arranging vetting when dealer rings me and says "I have had just had a deposit from someone who has bought the mare - unseen"!!!! I didnt leave a deposit but had said I wanted her and the dealer could have told me and I would have put a deposit in her account. I can only assume that the mare probably wouldnt have passed the vet and the dealer couldnt be bothered with the hassle of it all, even though I quite clearly said I would be having her vetted from the outset. Or maybe she didnt like me and didnt want me to have her! Argghhhhh

That's unfair

Prob fate stepping in for you, she may not have been right for you. Onwards and upwards

Was it that grey mare? TBH I'm not surprised someone bought her unseen with no vetting at that price, she looked lovely. Did you offer to leave a deposit subject to vet? If you didn't and the dealer didn't promise to hold on to her, they didn't do anything wrong. Still annoying for you though. I hope you come across something else soon.

If you had left a deposit subject to vet and then she had failed the vet, what were the chances of getting it back without a load of grief? - or am I just cynical?

she was lovely - if a little nervy. I unfortunately didnt have the money on me and she didnt seem worried. I just wish she had asked me for my deposit before accepting the other. I guess if she is in it to make money then she would take the unconditional purchase (i.e the one without the vetting) - have calmed down - was so cross at the time but there will be others.
