...which clearly I never would, given my hatred of all things cobby, where would I find a 7'3 or 7'6 really deep HW stable rug with either a very deep hood (attached or detached)?
Recommend me a rug, please, for my hypothetical horse.

You mean something like a Shire X??? ;) :D

Rambo do rugs that are not only big sizes, but are big in the chest too. Rambo Excel perhaps, not 100% sure!

Ooops, just realised you wanted a Stable rug. :o

Fal are good for the bigger horse. Henry gets whatever hand-me-downs we can find, however he is only dinky really, just broad.

My hypthetical beast would be large and broad, so Weatherbeetas would look like mini-skirts on a fat girl. :D
Henry is a delicate if not weedy flower in comparison...
And I am ignoring Indiat. :p

I've just got the PE trio for my ISH who is high withered and broad chested/shouldered. WBs were pretty good on him but this is way better - not pulling on his wither and plenty of room in the chest - its well designed and well made, I'd highly recommend it & it comes in 7'3.

It is possible that my hypothetical horse's neck is too fat to fit in the necks of PE rugs...

Not necessarily, The Welsh Cob is very well built, has big shoulders and a girth to match most of those proper hairy things you so dislike :D personally I found Rambos were more like a mini skirt.

How about Premier Equine, Shires. Believe they tend to fit bigger beasts well.

Are we to understand you maybe straying over to the...well not the dark side, but the cob shaped side?!

Not shires! They don't even fit my WBxTB and he's not especially big round the shoulders!

Shils is there a picture of something like this hypothetical horse so we can see what we're dealing with.

Someone posted a link to a shire horse rug site not long ago. I'll get googling!

You know, for a hypothetical horse, its very difficult to rug. 'Fess up Shils what have you bought. Shire? Ardennes? Shire Ardennes x? With a Shetland? You know what they say, "Once you go hairy, you can never be lairy".

OK, I made that up. :D

youve bought a cobby thing havnt you BS LOL...

weatherbeater rugs go to thoose sizes and are fairley generous.

Indiat - this hypothetical horse is indeed very difficult to rug due to its fat neck, broad body and general largeness.

Jesstickle - ha! I refuse to be tricked into producing a photo of her, I mean it, I mean the hypothetical horse.

*points and laughs* shils has a "cobby" type horse oh shils please do treat us to a photo.. it will stop me posint a picture of my hairy..

Fals fit my Clydesdale cross' shoulders, but look like mini-skirts. PE fit the depth of girth great, but the neck only just does up. I just have it not fastened very well, so the food can still get down.
