What a month! Roll on March!
Went to see mum tonight. She was a bit poorly and didnt really want to stay awake so a bit disappointing but we know there are going to be up and down days.
Got back about 7.00pm to find my friend who keeps her horse here with my old boy (32) in the stable- he lives out all year round. Colic! Now he is prone to colic but normally he gets it if he is stabled, hence why he lives out. Also he normally just doesnt eat and is a bit fidgety. Once he is out and walking about he is normally fine within about 10 minutes. Well tonight it was not the case. He was miserable and was found by friend lying flat out. He wasnt sweating but his respiratory rate was high and he was wanting to roll a little bit but not frantic. So just had the vet. He thinks it is an impaction and has dosed him up with liquid paraffin and epsom salts.
So fingers crossed for him. At his age it could be anything really but hopefully its not too serious. I think I've probably had my share of vibes for this month but if there are a few more going Crispin would like them!
Guess Im up for another sleepless night!
