Now the snow has gone!!

We have been feeding adlib hay in the field for 6 horses whilst the snow was on the ground. Prior to this they had hay in the field but were eating grass as well, now they will only eat the hay and wont go to graze. Anyone else in this situation and what are you doing?

nope as soon as he realised the green stuff was back there was no stopping him xx

we don't have lot of grass at the moment but they have been mooching around and ignoring their haylage a bit today

Not fed hay at all thro the snow. They would rather go and dig about at the top of the hill where it has melted a bit for the grass.

No, as soon as mine spotted some green, they were gobbling that and ignoring any hay.

I've been weighing my hay and giving them that amount everyday. If I gave ab lib hay they wouldnt stop eating it and would get very fat! (and I would run out of hay!)

Thank you for all your replies, they have now re-found the grass and have started eating it again! Although will still come for hay when put out
