Further to LindaC's slaughter post, I received literature today from ILPH regarding their campaign to stop the long distance transportation of horses for slaughter. Please have a look at www.ilph.org/makeanoise. This is what you should be making a fuss about LindaC, not the humane ending offered at slaughter houses in England.

Link wouldn't open...for me, anyway, but sometimes I'm special

Don't know what I've done wrong, not very good with technology. That is the correct web address, but I can't access it thro my link either. Please have a look at it anyway if you have time, they seem to be having a big push - the slogan is"help us break the trade that's breaking horses".

Thank you. will go and stand in the corner with my dunces hat on. I am useless with computers, that is why you will never see any pics or clever bits with my posts!

Would it help if you write lines ;
'I must try to be like JM07'
'I must try to be like JM07'
'I must try to be like JM07'
'I must try to be like JM07'

That truly brings home the importance of having the decent slaughterhouses we do in Britain. A Bristish horse need only travel 20 or 30 miles to be put out of it's pain, yet with the legal transport across Europe those poor suffering horses will have been travelling for hours, or days on end.

Will try writing lines, as long as they don't have to be done on the computer. I blame it on my age but then again why can't I be like the silver surfers you read about (not that I'm silver, thanks to some magic stuff in a bottle).

first sentence.. i totally agree...
second..incorrect..there are only 2 licenced Horse Abattoirs throughout england..one here in Somerset, the other in Cheshire...they would need to travel "hours" but not days.

sorry, I wasnt aware of that. But with one at each end of the country... what 6 or 7 hours travelling as opposed to two or three days.

yes, i would guess a maximum journey of 6 hours...

but we do have strict W. I. T. laws in this country which are adhered to, that a maximum of 8 hours is the law whereby the animals need to be rested before continuing on their way.

put my name down as a campaigner - this is something I've always felt strongly about but never done anything, which I guess is like a few of us.
