Daughter is going hunting so thought we'd add the curb strap.

But the curb seems to sit above the back of the nose strap - is that correct as thought it would be under? If if needs to go under would seem we would need to adjust the bridle so the nose strap sits higher on his nose, but then the bit would be too high/tight in his mouth.

Does anyone with this combination have to re-adjust bridle for the curb to fit under the back of the nose strap?

Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for your help.

I am interested to know how much of a difference the curb strap makes - sorry not fitted one yet!!

Phoned NS who said it should be above noseband. We fiddled a bit and daughter rode with it above and below the noseband. Didnt make any difference either way so dont waste your money!

Try calling the knowledgeable ladies at Bit Bank. The bit which works best for the horse and gives the additional brakes will depend very much on the shape of the mouth, thickness of tongue etc. Also to whether your horse responds to poll or curb groove pressure. You can trial bits from the bank for 30 days which really helps - especially with some of the more expensive and esoteric options!

Interesting that NS said that. I have the Universal and have a leather curb strap which sits below the noseband. I found it does work better than with no curb. However, I'm going to try with a grackle noseband and no curb on the next outing and see how we go.
