Last one I promise! Seen a lovely looking Nugent Spirit 25 for sale, only been used 5 times from new. From what I've been able to gather they seem to be very well made, strong trailers, similar to the Ifors, but as they're rather uncommon there's a lack of reviews/feedback available!

Any thoughts?

As I said before they are far superior to the Ifors and no suspension banging about.

Thanks! How would you compare it to Ifors otherwise? It looks aesthetically to be a nice trailer and it seems Nugent Trailers have come from an engineering background so ought (hopefully) to be a well made one. Do you know what they cost new? Cant see prices anywhere on the website!

Says from 4500 inc vat on a page I just looked on. Similar to IW in terms of price. Pretty poor amount of info tho, not easy to find what colours are available and what they look like.

Another lot of prices http://www.horsetrailersales.co.uk/nugentprices.asp

Just noticed they are an Irish make. Had two Irish livestock trailers both a complete nightmare and gone back to welsh ones now. I prefer the look of the IW to be honest. I really fancied a Fautras but they are mega bucks and little to no availability second hand.

The other thing about IW is they keep their value ridiculously better than any other make. I could trade in a 5yr old stock trailer for a new one for very little money. Horse trailers are the same. My current mainstock trailer isn't IW. We are looking for a second one and will most likely buy IW despite the issues.

Funnily enough we have an ifor dealer near here whose wife has a Nugent ,they are so much better built.

Funny you should mention stock trailer we will never have another as we have have had two that had sheared off their wheels with the brakedrum thought once was unlucky! Ifors did not want to know however NFU mutual told us it is a common issue.

Ha brilliant. I'd like to see one in the flesh.

I get ifor to service my stock trailer and they have mostly all said what a great trailer it is. (One of them can't help but have digs about it tho!).

Hopefully the plan would be that we'd have the trailer for a good while. We're never going to buy a horsebox and the reason for selling our 505 is getting a bigger horse so priority really is one that'll stay in good condition. Obviously if we do end up re-selling for any reason i'll be eating my words here haha

What would your opinion be on UK stockists? Obviously one advantage of Ifors is that there are endless dealers around the UK and possibly, should something go wrong, this could be an issue with the nugent?

As long as they keep a stock of bits and will send them by courier not pigeon post, for anything not standard, it's not a problem buying a non usual trailer. Another dealer will still be willing to service it for you etc. that was the main issue I had with my Irish trailer. It took them 6 weeks to send a light box. It had to be their one as nothing else fitted in the space.
