Can I use a number bib myself in dressage instead of using bridle numbers?

Is there anything in the BD rules against it do you know?

If run under BD rules you need to have a number on either side of the horse (I attach mine to the saddle pad).

For unaffiliated I would ask the organiser.

I know someone who competed quest in a number bib and wasn't stopped but as Eggs has shown above this is against the rules. If unaff you can ask for permission but often they don't require numbers at all.
