Anyone reccommend a numnah or saddle pad? Needs to be padded but not any of the wool ones or like a half pad, preferably not lemieux and budget friendly

It's hard to get a padded one that doesn't make them sweat badly without it being natural materials.

I hate synthetic fluff but all my horses like the shires supafleece girths, the do varying supafleece pads and numnah so maybe look at those?

Have you looked at a courtlea? They are wool but very slim fitting unlike the lemieux so don't affect saddle width - all us showing folk use them but they're great for general use too

Have you asked your fitter? They should have suggestions, and ideas about designs that don't cause the saddle to feel "tight". So much depends on where the contact is under the front of the saddle and where the padding hits. I know you don't want sheepskin but Mattes offer an option for an "extra wide wither area" which, if your panels come up a bit high on a narrowish wither for example, avoid pressure around the upper part of the wither.

The thicker the pad, on average, the more protection it gives but the more it will change your saddle fit. The exceptions are things like Thinline but that doesn't come out brilliantly in testing, this company's pad, which they will ship here, is an absolutely proven material, d3o, and highly recommended https://www.facebook.com/lamortisseur.orange. It was based on the Invictus pad (you can search in here for rave reviews of that) but the owner of that died and the company sadly went with her. The new pad has better features IMO though I've not seen one in the flesh.

All depends what you're actually trying to achieve.
