Evening!

Following on form my posts regarding my hunting obsessed daughter, all she wants for her birthday is a decent numnah. Now, I used to know what was correct and what I liked but that was 20+ yrs ago for eventing so was astounded at the array of colours, styles and price now available.

So, now intrigued as to what is correct for a chestnut hunting demon and soon to be 11 yr old daughter? At least she luckily hates pink and sparkle!

Thank you again for any insight into what I should be getting!!

I always hunt with a fur lined saddle shaped numnah. I have a brown and black, depending on what colour my saddle is. Otherwise I'd say it should just be a saddle shaped numnah (as opposed to a square saddlecloth)

As I guessed! Are any makes better/more comfortable/longer lasting than others? What would you consider a fair price for a "fit for purpose" pony numnah?

Thank you...feeling very stupid!!

I have a 'chestnut hunting demon' pony of my own (inherited from very tall daughter) and she wears a brown Nuumed GP Numnah for hunting, which seems to suit her well. Has lasted quite a few years and worth the money (even for a tight-wad like me who doesn't normally splash out on stuff).

I love the Les Meiux (sp?!) lamb wool numnahs, I wear mine for showjumping, cross cross country and anything I take hunting! They are quite pricey but well worth it in my opinion, they keep the horses hacks warm and dry and look super smart under the saddle. Hope your daughter has a lovely birthday and many more happy hunting days this season! :D
