I have just bought a grey - he has dark gray/black legs and had a mottled grey body with white/grey mane and tail - I have just clipped his body and now he is very white with some faint dapples
Really stupid question but I have never had a grey before - will his body get darker when his summer coat comes through or will his legs get lighter. He is only 3. I appreciate he will get whiter as he gets older but wondered how quickly this happens
Thanks

Greys seem to be a law unto themselves, some 'grey out' really quickly and others can still have the dark legs for years. Some even change with each coat change, which is fun :D

Our dapple was nearly black when we got her (aged 4) and almost white when we sold her (aged 8)! I always thought she looked darker with her winter coat, then shockingly lighter when her summer coat came through. Such a shame, they're lovely when dapple!

Thanks. He looks lovely with his dark legs and I would love to have a couple years of him being dark or strongly dappled before I have all that expanse of white to keep clean!
